Dr Mohamed El-Haram, Managing Director
Mohamed (Mo) El-Haram is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Whole Life Consultants Ltd, and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Dundee. He holds a first degree in Industrial Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Exeter.
With more than 20 years of industrial experience and over 16 years in academia, Mo has worked across sectors including oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Zagreb and has delivered professional skills training in whole-life costing for the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR). He has co-authored more than 60 journal and conference papers, as well as a book on logistic support.
His expertise spans research methods, sustainability assessment, whole-life costing, integrated logistics support, risk-based asset management, procurement of PFI/PPP contracts, and skills and employment forecasting. He has a particular specialism in life-cycle costing, leading the development of WLC’s proprietary Evaluator software, which provides a uniquely powerful approach to whole-life decision-making.
Mo also served as Project Director for a €400,000 EU-funded programme to transfer knowledge in sustainability assessment across six European partner countries.
