Professor Malcolm Horner, Chairman

Malcolm Horner is a co-founder and Chair of Whole Life Consultants Ltd, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Incorporation of Architects Scotland.

He is Emeritus Professor of Engineering Management at the University of Dundee where he led the Construction Management Research Unit in the Division of Civil Engineering. The Construction Management Research Unit successfully completed research projects to a value in excess of £5m and published some 200 academic and professional papers.

He is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College, past Chairman of Scottish Enterprise Tayside, past Member of the CITB’s National Council and past Chairman of CITB’s Technical Reference Group.

He has been a non-executive director of a number of public and private sector organisations in a variety of social and commercial fields. His principal areas of interest are labour productivity and cost modeling, management and control.
